Mountjoy have recently secured a £3.1m contract with the Isle of Wight NHS Trust for the Design and Build of a new extension at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.

The new 580m2, single-storey building will form part of the Hospital’s new Community Diagnostics Centre, designed to expand diagnostic capacity on the island, allowing for faster access and earlier diagnosis which will improve outcomes for people with long term health conditions.

The extension will house a treatment room, echo ultrasound, consult/exam rooms, DEXA scanner, and spirometry.

Throughout the works, the adjacent hospital buildings will remain in occupation and so careful planning and programming will be a key part of not only ensuring the safety of all patients, staff, and visitors, but also minimising disruption to the day-to-day running of the hospital.

Work is due to begin in August 2023, with completion set for Summer 2024.
