Mountjoy were proud to support local youth charity, Motiv8, in this year’s Summer Passport event.

Motiv8 are a local charity who support vulnerable young people in the community, taking a person-centred approach to build on strengths and provide positive ‘life chances’ to help them thrive.

The Summer Passport event was established in 2008, and provides free activities across a number of locations in Gosport for young people in the local area, from pizza-making to Basketball. This year’s Summer Passport was run by Motiv8, in conjunction with Gosport Borough Council and the Community Safety Partnership.

To support the event, two of our staff working on our maintenance contract with Portsmouth City Council, Tony Kessack and Ross Jones, attended the Summer Passport where they taught over 100 young people about bricklaying, providing them with a chance to gain hands-on experience in the trade. They also provided the attendees with detailed insight into life in the construction industry, a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in a future career in construction.

We look forward to continuing to support Motiv8 and their fantastic work in the future.
