Mountjoy Secure Contract for Alterations to Listed Church Building

Mountjoy have secured an £860k contract with Bitterne Parish Church for internal alterations to Holy Saviour Bitterne, a Grade II listed church in Southampton.  

This will be Phase 2 of the works, following the recent construction of a two-storey extension to the building, which Mountjoy completed in January 2022.

The works for Phase 2 will involve:

• The construction of a new mezzanine across the rear of the church
• Lowering of the raised floor elements in the main church
• The installation of new M&E services throughout the building

The original church building will be closed throughout the works, however the extension and cemetery remain in use, and so careful planning has been implemented to ensure the safety of the public.

Works began on the 10th of July 2023 and are due to complete in February 2024.
