This Easter, Mountjoy have been happy to support two local Easter Egg donation drives in Portsmouth.

Helping Hands are a group of volunteers based in Portsmouth who provide homeless and vulnerable members of the local community with hot food, hot drinks, and any other necessary supplies, using donations from the public.

Following a successful donation drive last Christmas, in which Mountjoy staff and members of our supply chain donated supplies to be handed out by Helping Hands volunteers over the festive season, Mountjoy invited our staff to get involved in the charity’s Easter donation drive, joining our efforts to support the cause and help spread some joy this Easter.

Donations were collected at our Portsmouth Office in North End, before being collected by a Helping Hands volunteer on 6th April.

We were also happy to get involved in Portsmouth City Council’s appeal, in aid of asylum seekers and refugee families living within the city. When a number of the children within these families were asked about how they could feel more at home and welcomed within the community, many of the children requested Easter Eggs, and so the drive was created, with a number of local businesses asked to get involved and donate.

We would like to thank all staff who generously donated to these fantastic causes!
