On 15th February, Mountjoy hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of our £1.5m project to construct the new K2 Youth & Community Centre in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

Attendees at the ceremony included our Building Projects Director, Duncan O’Rourke, our Contract Manager for the project, Simon Powell, our Site Manager, George Hobart and our QS, Adrian Hibberd.

We also welcomed guests from Littlehampton Town Council and Arun District Council, including Project Lead, Juliet Harris, Assistant Town Clerk and Felix Gillett, Community Resources Manager for Littlehampton Town Council, as well as the Littlehampton Town Mayor, Councillor Jill Long and Deputy Town Mayor, Councillor Freddie Tandy.

Also in attendance were the Chair of Arun District Council, Councillor Samantha-Jayne Staniforth and Chris Luck from Baqus Construction and Property Consultancy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor of Littlehampton Town Council, Councillor Jill Long said: ‘The new hall will be great for the local community, especially young people. Having been part of the team of those commissioning it, I feel as though I’ve lived and breathed this project- it’s wonderful to see it happening.’

Duncan O’Rourke, Mountjoy’s Building Projects Director commented, ‘We are glad to be working on this project for the local community, and are looking forward to working alongside the dedicated team at Littlehampton Town Council and Arun District Council.’
