Mountjoy has been awarded a contract by Fareham Borough Council to carry out Void Property Repairs and Refurbishment Works to the Council’s housing stock. The contract is worth approximately £9m over a 5-year term. It covers void property repairs, replacement kitchens and bathrooms, disabled adaptations and occasional reactive works to the Council’s 2,500 homes.

The award follows a comprehensive procurement process during which representatives from Fareham Borough Council visited Mountjoy’s Head Office in Farlington, Portsmouth to meet the proposed contract team and to understand the company’s culture, business processes and IT systems.

Simon Winkworth, Director at Mountjoy, said “We are really delighted to have been awarded this contract by Fareham Borough Council. I am particularly pleased that we were able to communicate the quality of our service offer during the tender process.  We look forward to working closely with the Council over the coming years to deliver a great service for Fareham residents.”

Cllr Birkett, Executive Member for Housing, said: "The purpose of this contract is to ensure empty properties are properly prepared so that we can hand over the right property to the right tenant with confidence. I would like to congratulate Mountjoy for being awarded this contract and I know that the Housing Team is looking forward to working with them to deliver a quality service for our customers."

Mobilisation of the new contract is due to commence immediately with services formally starting on 1st May 2019.
