Mountjoy has been awarded a new contract by the University of Southampton to provide planned and reactive building maintenance services to the University’s own Halls of Residence, covering approximately 6,500 bedrooms across multiple campuses in Southampton and Winchester.

Mountjoy has been working with the University since 2011 and following a full competitive tender process has now been awarded a new 5-year contract with an option to extend by a further two years. The contract covers reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance and an annual programme of summer refurbishment works to refresh the rooms ready for new students to move in.

Simon Winkworth, Director at Mountjoy commented, “We are really delighted to re-secure this prestigious contract with the University of Southampton.  It was a rigorous tender process and we were up against some tough competition. I believe our success reflects the high-quality service we currently provide to the University as well our approach to further enhancing the student experience over the coming years.”

Kevin Monaghan, the University’s Executive Director of Estates and Facilities, commented, “The University of Southampton is delighted to be working again with Mountjoy and looks forward to a continuation of the successful delivery of services for the benefit of our students and staff.”
