Mountjoy has successfully retained its contract for Building Maintenance services with the Isle of Wight Council following a competitive tender process. The contract is worth approximately £500,000 a year and will run for five years with the potential for a further two-year extension.

Mountjoy has been delivering this service to the Council since 2017 through our team of Island-based trade staff operating out of our office in Ryde.  It covers responsive repairs, planned preventative maintenance and minor projects for all of the Council’s buildings including County Hall, schools, offices, leisure centres and care homes. The new contract will see Mountjoy invest in improved IT systems and recruit an apprentice from the Island.

Tanya Roxborough, Maintenance Director for Mountjoy commented: “We are delighted to retain this contract and continue our successful working partnership with the Isle of Wight Council. Over recent years the team on the Island has consistently delivered a high-quality service as well as delivering some important projects such as the creation of the Covid-19 vaccination centre in Westridge.“

Christopher Ashman, Director of Regeneration for the Isle of Wight said: “We are delighted to appoint once again a local contractor to provide essential ongoing building maintenance services for IW Council premises. The local Mountjoy team of Island based professional tradespersons have previously provided the council with the high-quality service it expects.  This includes several recent pieces of essential project work that have positively supported the Council's COVID response efforts on the Island.  We very much look forward to the opportunity to continue our working partnership.”
