Mountjoy has been awarded a project to provide modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation for the Andover Health Centre Medical Practice (AHCMP) GP surgery. The new surgery will replace the existing one at the Andover War Memorial Hospital, ensuring that community care needs continue to be met in the face of a growing population. The project has come to fruition thanks to a long-term partnership between the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and NHS West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The £3.8m project will involve the demolition of the existing hospital wing accommodating the GP surgery and other staff facilities, followed by the construction of a new two-storey building to house the new surgery and a dentist's office. Additionally, we will be carrying out alterations to the existing hospital car park.

Works at the hospital site are due to commence later in 2020 and will run for 52 weeks.

Mountjoy has carried out a significant number of projects in the healthcare sector in recent years, including a £1.2m refurbishment and extension at a care home in Redhill and a £200k emergency room refurbishment at University Hospital Southampton. We are currently making excellent progress with our £2m total refurbishment scheme at the Victoria Cottage Hospital site in Emsworth for the NHS South Eastern Hampshire CCG, providing modern GP facilities for the local community.
