Mountjoy has been awarded a further two education projects across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with both starting in August 2019. These follow on from two contract wins with Portsmouth City Council for summer refurbishments at the new Mary Rose School and Cliffdale Primary School.

The first project involves the replacement of roofing and heating systems along with fire safety improvements at Stamshaw Junior School in Tipner, Portsmouth. The £500k works, for the University of Chichester Multi Academy Trust, are due for completion in September.

The second project involves the £480k internal remodelling and refurbishment of the Island Learning Centre in Newport, Isle of Wight. The Centre provides specialised alternative provision for the most vulnerable students within the Isle of Wight Council’s education system. The project is due for completion in December and involves demolition and strip out, carpentry, services infrastructure and external fencing works. The project has been phased to ensure the safety of both staff and pupils during the Autumn term which commences in September.
