We provide reactive and planned maintenance for the University of Southampton's halls of residences, with minimal disruption to students. Additionally, we carry out a tight programme of refurbishments each summer whilst the rooms are unoccupied.
After mobilising the contract in 2011 from our head office, Mountjoy set up an office for the maintenance team on site at the University’s Glen Eyre Campus to allow for a rapid response service and close contact with the University’s Property Management Team.
As well the normal day-to-day carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other ad hoc repairs Mountjoy also carries out larger refurbishments of whole accommodation blocks and within Southampton General Hospital. Our operatives are also trained to carry out planned legionella testing to all showerheads within the Halls of Residence.
For the summer programme Mountjoy’s increased workforce are inducted in the University’s way of working and then set to work on the >2000 appointments that can occur within the one-week vacant timeframe.
