Portsmouth City Council | Care Home Alterations - Phase 1
Portsmouth City Council
Construction Refurbishment New Build Kitchen Replacements Health

The Objective

Portsmouth City Council required the alteration of Corben Lodge Care Home to provide four separate units for assisted living requirements. The site had to be decanted to carry out the works and needed to be completed in early 2017 so that new residents could move in.

The Solution

Mountjoy’s Special Projects team mobilised this project rapidly working with our approved subcontractors to deliver the alteration and refurbishment works within the tight timescales.

The works to the blocks comprised of renewal and refurbishment of electrical and mechanical services, installation of new windows, roof lights and sun tunnels, installation of new internal and external doors. Internal decorations, plastering, artex asbestos removal, masonry partitions, new suspended ceilings and fire rated loft hatches, new carpets and vinyl floor coverings. New kitchens were also fitted and existing kitchens refurbished, with existing bathrooms serviced. The project also entailed a new build, one storey flat roof extension to the north and west elevations of the building. The project was completed with landscaping works.
