On Thursday 9th November, The News and Chichester Observer’s inaugural Apprenticeship of the Year Awards were held at the Marriot Hotel in Portsmouth.

The awards highlight the fantastic opportunities that apprenticeships offer across multiple business sectors, and celebrate the hardworking individuals and organisations involved in apprenticeships within the local area.

In support of our two nominated apprentices, Gemma Dickson, our HR Apprentice who was nominated for the Advanced Apprentice of the Year Award, and Leanne Furneaux, who has recently completed her Carpentry Apprenticeship and was nominated for the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year Award, the awards were attended by Mountjoy’s Managing Director, Simon Ingram, our Finance Director, Dan Carlin, and our Building Projects Director, Duncan O’Rourke, as well as members of our HR and Portsmouth City Council Maintenance Team who have worked closely with Gemma and Leanne in their roles.

We would like to congratulate Gemma and Leanne, who were runners-up in their categories, and would like to thank them for all their hard work throughout their apprenticeships.

We would also like to congratulate all the winners from the event for all their efforts in championing apprenticeships and the opportunities they provide.
