Objective

In order to ultimately deliver energy efficiencies and reduce carbon emissions, Horsham District Council received grant funding to remodel St Peter's Hall and the Royal Air Forces Association Club (RAFA). It had been found that the building had not only low energy standards but a poor internal arrangement, making it difficult to use particularly for disabled residents. The project was commissioned to provide a more modern, flexible and efficient space to be used by the local community.

Solution

Mountjoy commenced the project in May 2021, with key work packages including the re-roofing of the building, installation of a new air source heat pump heating system, solar panels and improved insulation, the removal of asbestos containing materials and the replacement of kitchen units and finishes. Internal reconfiguration has provided a 80m2 hall, separate meeting room, new toilets, kitchen, office, entrance foyer and store areas.
