The Objective
The University of Portsmouth's Eldon Building is the home of its Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries. Mountjoy was appointed to form a Broadcast Journalism Newsroom in the building which would include refurbishment works to a couple of rooms.
With the works taking place in an establish educational site with students and teaching staff in occupation of the building, care was needed at all times to ensure the safety of site users.
The Solution
Mountjoy's refurbishment team familiar with working on the University of Portsmouth's estate refurbished the required rooms to include decorations and new flooring, new power and data, lighting, access control and mechanical ventilation and cooling. They constructed a new meeting room including new glazed partitions. The existing kitchen was refurbished and remodelled to form a new office and catering store.
