The Objective
In December 2012, Mountjoy was called upon to assist in the demolition of a community centre in Goldsworth Park in Woking which had suffered a fire. In 2014, following a successful tender, our building team were awarded the contract for its rebuild and refurbishment.
The Solution
The project entailed repair and development work, with the erection of two single-storey extensions. In addition to the structural work, a new roof was built, internal areas were remodelled with new suspended ceilings and partitioning, flooring, windows and doors, mechanical and electrical installations and decorating. A new kitchen facility and toilets with their associated furnishings and sanitaryware were also created.
External areas were landscaped to give a welcoming appearance to the nursery and local community groups who will be filling the rooms.
