Fareham Borough Council | Depot Reconfiguration and Refurbishment
Fareham Borough Council
Refurbishment Alteration Fit-out Industrial Local Authority

Objective

Along with their main office, Fareham Borough Council own and operate a depot facility for their Grounds Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Highway Maintenance, Refuse Collection, Pest Control and Transport Repair teams. To ensure all staff had sufficient space to continue delivering essential services, the Council requested tenders for the internal reconfiguration of the depot to provide additional working areas. Mountjoy was consequently awarded the project.

Solution

The project comprised internal alterations, adaptations and reconfiguration of part of the existing depot to create additional office and locker space, along with the addition of an external lift to serve the upper floor. Associated works included the creation of a disabled WC facility on the first floor, the installation of a new ventilation system and the re-fitting of the existing kitchen.

The depot remained in operation throughout the entirety of the works – to ensure we caused minimal disruption we maintained separate access routes for Mountjoy staff and Council staff and aligned our routes through site with those currently in place to ensure vehicle movements could continue as normal.
