Surrey County Council | Warehouse Conversion to Create Fire Station
Surrey County Council
Construction Alteration Fit-out Industrial Local Authority

The Objective

In 2014 Surrey County Council were in the process of redistributing its fire service and a small station was required in Redhill.

The Solution

Surrey County Council bought a warehouse on an industrial estate and Mountjoy’s job was to convert it into a fire station and control room. Mountjoy stripped out the building and made structural alterations to ensure stability and provided suitable and sufficient floor slabs to support the new walls, partitions, plant and equipment.

New electrical, mechanical and drainage systems were included in the work as was a complete fit out and decoration.

The fire station now houses one fire engine and one Unimog ready to respond to emergency calls received in the new office.
