East Wittering and Bracklesham Parish Council have recently given the go ahead for the construction of a new community building to be delivered by Mountjoy Ltd.
The local construction and refurbishment provider will be developing a single storey building with a multi-use sports court, toilet and shower facilities, an office area, community space, kitchen facilities and storage spaces. Externally there will be a safe play area and landscaping.
A spokesperson from the parish council has said that the building “provides a positive opportunity to enhance the site and surrounding area and is a well-planned and much needed community facility.
“The proposal will provide facilities for the local Girl Guiding Movement, a badminton court within a multipurpose space, and a youth hall providing cooking facilities for community functions”.
The works are due to commence in July following a sod cutting ceremony and take 7 months to complete.
