Mountjoy was appointed to deliver the construction of a new care home in Bordon on a vacant site. The building is to be occupied and managed by Omega Elifar Ltd who provide specialist care for people with learning disabilities in Hampshire and Surrey.
The new facility will include an 8 bed full time care unit, a 10 bed independent living unit with communal facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, activity room and offices. A kitchen and dining room will be created with communal lounges, lift services and a car park.
Mountjoy is using a steel-frame construction for the new buildings which also include two lifts. The high dependency units will all be fully fitted out with hoists for beds and baths.
The team has taken into consideration protected trees which are on the site and will be creating sedum roofs for the buildings and landscaping gardens.
Through the hoarding around the construction site Omega Elifar are able to advertise jobs that will be available in the new facility when it opens.
