Caring about People

Mountjoy is committed to fostering an environment that protects our people at all times. We also maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, honesty and diligence driven by our comprehensive Human Resources strategy and our Code of Conduct.

Equally we train our employees in customer care to ensure we deliver the best solution to those receiving our service.  In July 2011, we introduced a new apprenticeship scheme to demonstrate our commitment to help and support our people in developing their knowledge and skillsets.  Mountjoy now employs four apprentices covering both office administration and trade operatives.

Caring about the Environment

At Mountjoy we work closely with our clients and suppliers to mitigate any negative impact our business may have on the natural environment. We are committed to using environmentally friendly materials, undertaking waste segregation, recycling and maximising energy efficiency and 'carbon off-setting'.

Caring about the Community

Mountjoy is a key player in the local economy, with a commitment to building ever-closer links with the community of which we are part. We employ local people and we work with local suppliers. Beyond this we are proud to donate both time and resources to community initiatives, such as the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation and Portsmouth Learning Disability Partnership.

Caring about Charities

Mountjoy's nominated charity is the Construction Youth Trust. This year, we aim to provide financial and practical support to the organisation, which helps and inspires young people as they overcome a range of barriers. These barriers include financial hurdles, low self-esteem, lack of awareness of opportunities, gender and ethnicity issues and poor access to training and employment. Our support will include hosting site visits and careers events to promote a positive image of construction; and provision of work experience opportunities for young people.
