Portsmouth City CouncilTERM CONTRACT FOR RESPONSIVE AND PLANNED MAINTENANCE OF PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL'S HOUSING ASSETS.
In 2006, Mountjoy was awarded a Responsive Maintenance Repairs, Voids and Planned Works contract for 4,000 homes.
The responsive maintenance and void works include plumbing, windows, carpentry/joinery, plastering and decorating, electrics, roofing, fencing and groundworks. Planned works include kitchen installations, bathroom installations and disabled adaptations, electrical testing and fire door upgrades.
As part of our collaborative partnership with Portsmouth City Council, Mountjoy adopted a 'lean thinking' methodology which enables us to achieve our 'right work at the right time' mantra. It is a fundamental change to traditional methods of delivering a service and demonstrated our commitment to continuous improvement.
Mountjoy has a direct labour force of over 40 operatives in the field and a dedicated operations centre for this contract. We operate a dynamic appointment scheduling system where residents choose a time (to the hour) that suits them and the resource is allocated accordingly. Works are carried out whilst the property is occupied; this requires a high level of health and safety and good customer service.
