CARING ABOUT PEOPLE

In September 2007, Mountjoy sponsored the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival, which aims to establish the Island as a leading destination for cycling enthusiasts, but also to promote cycling as an environmentally friendly mode of transport. Mountjoy's contribution included provision of 1,500 water bottles for the participants, road safety cones and staff volunteers to help mark the course. The community, including local cycling clubs and organisations, also supported the event.

In July 2011, Mountjoy introduced a new apprenticeship scheme and training policy to demonstrate the company's commitment to help and support its people in developing their knowledge and skillsets. This resulted in the appointment of an Office Admin Apprentice and three Operative Apprentices.

In October 2011, Mountjoy was invited to Highbury College, Portsmouth to collect an award from the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth for "exemplary partnership working with Portsmouth City Council and Portsmouth Learning Disability Partnership Board".

Dave Redman, Managing Director, collected the award on behalf of Mountjoy and said: "As a company, we have always been committed to providing equal opportunity to employees and those within the community and this award is testament to that."
