Your new company
Mountjoy is an expanding construction and maintenance company focused on delivering exceptional service to its clients and customers across the south of England.
Our building team is busy undertaking £12m of construction and special project works each year across the south in education, health, housing and leisure sectors and is in need of additional support to manage this growing pipeline.
Your new role
The Assistant Estimator will have a pivotal role in the growth of Mountjoy’s construction business. You will:
Supporting the estimator with managing invitations to tender / requests for quotations received from clients
Print, collate, prepare and review tender documentation and drawings issued by customers
Support estimators to complete take offs from tender documents, site surveys and drawings to produce detailed bills of quantities
Identify suitable subcontractors and send out pricing enquiries
Assist in the analysis and compilation of quotations from subcontractors & suppliers
Create, update, manage and issue priced Bills of Quantities to support tender
Support the operations team and internal safety team to develop the construction method for project including construction programme, site set-up and logistics, temporary works registers and method statements
Support with bid team to ensure that tenders are submitted in a timely fashion and to a high standard of presentation.
Any other general business support activity as required
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Working towards relevant MSc/HND/HNC in Construction or Surveying
- 3+ years relevant experience
- Strong IT skills and ability to learn computer based estimating system
- Positive attitude and willingness to be 'hands on'
